Case studies are narratives that reveal what we are capable of as a team. When rebuilding our site, we really wanted full control over how we created these case studies to walk prospective clients through the details of our work.
Custom content
Our senior developer, Jon Potter, developed a custom component for us in the Django backend that enables our team to put together case studies with the content we choose. Testimonials, image carousels, icons, text and more can be added with the option to push it live instantly or keep it in draft mode until it's ready to be published.
List of content components.
There are a lot of nice details in the backend. When we add a content item, for example, it shows a custom icon next to each component to help us visualize how it will appear live on the site. And a simple checkbox allows us to feature any case study on the homepage. Or when an image is uploaded, it's scaled down to the right resolution and size with a custom focal point for smaller screen sizes. We even have a component for related case studies to lead users to additional work they might be interested in.
We also use the related posts component for our blog!
The flexibility to control all our content and manage our case studies with ease is one of the things that make the Django web framework such a powerful tool for us. A completely modular page that works on desktop and mobile just scratches the surface of what we can do with Django.
Using Django we can reorder content with a simple drag and drop.
We also frequently update our website with work, articles, landing pages and more. In order to make this as painless as possible for our team, we have taken the time to make a backend that works for us. What we build for ourselves, we also make available to our clients. And with Django, we can build anything to match your core business needs from the ground up.
